Kochu Govind Uncle & Lakshmi Aunty .... Living for ever in our hearts & at Temple view

Where do I start and how do I ? Uncle and Aunty over the years have become an integral part of our family and life that is hard to believe that they are not around. Oh no, they are very much around. Right here at Temple view in the house, in the garden and will be around forever.

Lady first....About Aunty... What A gem of a person she was.. Calm and quiet homemaker. Totally involved be it taking care of the teenagers at home, to the attention seeking husband and mastering all the servants, she kept the home running when she was on her toes or on wheel chairs. Most days, my first "Good Morning Hari" used to come from Aunty reading the newspaper and enjoying the view of the garden from her cozy corner room. She was a solid support. Uncle used to fondly recall the great times they both had together in London, Muscat and all over the world. Both of them are such a loving & caring couple they are a rolemodel for all of us to follow. Most of days when I am in chennai will start by walking into their breakfast table, meeting Uncle & Aunty getting the infectious / cheerful smile before going to office or out. After frequent visits to hospital and having a peaceful time on wheel chair, she made a quiet exit from this world same time last year leaving a huge vacuum for uncle and temple view. I still can,t forget that morning when Anju came running at 5 am and Amrith and we tried to save her but she was gone from this world.

About Uncle... That cheer and smile on his face is enough to lit you up on any day more so on a dull day. If that is not enough, his generous words with palmistry. It started as a casual habit 25 years ago for me getting my hand read by Uncle. His readings were accurate. It is a debate about the belief in these things, I believed in him,his words and direction. He will pull you up with a booster dose of confidence when your chips are down and warn you of the rough roads of life if you are too high. So much so that a few friends of mine who are established in the corporate world have their visits to Temple view for uncles words of their future. He taught me how to appreciate the softer things of life. Standing with him at the garden, I learnt how to appreciate flowers, plants and trees. Suja had so much of love for plants and flowers, they both enjoyed doing up the little space in our garden to make it colorful. Uncle may be gone, his plants, trees are there forever giving us his light, fragrance and colors. He had interest in art, creativity et all. Every wall, corner and piece of item converts into a piece of art with his touch and you can see it all at his beautiful home here at Templeview.

His appreciation for talent and children is remarkable. He spots the talent and appreciates it with generous words. Uncle is a connoiseur of food some of which are indulgences; one of his favorite is a Hot Bajji from a shop closeby. The special items from our house finds it way to his dining table. He knows to appreciate for even the small things
Of life. His ear for Music the Mohammed Raphi songs that played most mornings at 6 am. One day, Anu, me and uncle were talking about an year ago and I teased uncle why don't you blog on the Internet... There you go... Within a week with his able grand daughter's help, he was writing and posting on the Internet... Oh boy,,, that was passion & sharing. You compliment him for his writing, he is in cloud 9. He is an amazing networker. Lots and lots of people be it friends, relatives or neighbors would stop by to get his wishes and if you missed it, he will call you over the phone to wish.

Uncle taught us a lot of things with simple actions. Thanks uncle and Aunty for being here at Temple with me, Suja and my kids. We gained a lot. Lot of affection, love.... I can keep on and on..
We all wondered how uncle will take to it and live w/o his first lady and he did. We knew he felt the vacuum inside, he bounced back in no time only to discover that you have gone and joined your beloved wife out there in heaven.

Children and grand parents are treasures.. Care for them... Hold their hands, give them a hug, Make their day or rather make your day better .
